Carrying One Another

Faith was never meant to be a solitary climb. We were built to be carried, and to carry.

There is a quiet lie that many sincere believers carry: that needing other people is a kind of failure. That a strong faith should be a self-sufficient one. That if we were really walking with God, we would not need anyone to walk beside us.

But Scripture knows nothing of that lie. From the very beginning, God looked at one person, alone, and said it was not good. We were knit for one another — to carry and to be carried, to hold up arms grown heavy, to believe on someone's behalf when their own believing has run dry.

No one was meant to believe alone. That is not a flaw in your faith; it is the design.

I have watched it happen in this ministry more times than I can tell. A message reaching someone at 2am. A stranger's prayer becoming the hands that held a person through the night. A testimony lighting a path for the next person still in the dark.

So let yourself be carried this week. Tell one trusted person the truth of where you are. And keep your own eyes open for the one God may be asking you to carry — because the burden shared is the burden halved, and that is no small grace.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
